  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) from the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP) from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers (IHMM)
  • Certified Environmental Auditor of Certified Environmental Systems Manager from the National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP)
  • Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) from the Board of Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor Certifications (BEAC)

3 Environmental Protection Specialists must establish contacts regarding the Environmental programs. Contacts made include suppliers, prospective vendors, other federal agency personnel, Environmental Protection Agencies and others. They have frequent and direct contact with the inmate population, and through these contacts, may impact the inmate's attitude and behavior patterns. 4 Environmental Protection Specialists must produce written documents in a clear and concise manner. They are responsible for independently preparing comprehensive reports and documenting inspections and their respective corrective actions. They must compose internal policies and procedures, and prepare correspondence related to environmental needs and programs.
