  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) from Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP) from Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers (IHMM)
  • Certified Environmental Auditor of Certified Environmental Systems Manager from National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP)
  • Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) from Board of Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor Certifications (BEAC)

3.Environmental Compliance Specialists must possess the ability to effectively establish and maintain contacts regarding the Environmental programs with institution, Regional and Central Office personnel, vendors, suppliers, other federal agency personnel, Environmental Protection Agencies, the local Environmental and Safety Compliance Administrator. 4.The Environmental Compliance Specialists must be able to produce written documents. They are responsible for independently preparing comprehensive reports, memorandums and documenting inspections and their respective corrective actions. They are also responsible for composing internal policies and procedures, and preparing correspondence related to environmental needs and programs.   1. I have prepared and submitted monthly environmental reports to appropriate authority; and/or I have drafted a response to a request for information for Warden or CEO's signature; and/or I have documented findings from a Program Review or comparable external audit.

5.The Environmental Compliance Specialists are required to research, analyze and interpret information in order to develop, guide, provide advice, etc. on environmental issues/concerns impacting Bureau of Prison current or proposed operations.
