  2. Moderate - handling lines on capstans and gypsy heads for mooring operations including checking, surging, and holding lines. Fair leading lines through chocks, eye splicing and end splicing.
  3. Basic - making lines fast on cleats and bitts, tying simple knots such as clove hitch, bowline, square and half hitches, sheet bend.
